A is for Agyness
Agyness Deyn is a great face in fashion. Her look is reminiscent of both Twiggy and Edie with her own twist making her a true original! Also, her eclectic style is funky and chic at the same time. I love her!

Fashion Week Part II
I'm so sorry this has taken me so long to put up. I've just been working like crazy on school work.
The second show I went to was Zac Posen. His collection was inspired by shakers and the great plains. Cathy Horn of the New York Times hated it but I loved it! It was beautiful! He mixed neutral colors with fluorescent yellows, turquoises and purples. Dresses in these colors, and others, were embellished with beautiful detail.
Some of my favorite looks:

Favorite Dresses:

Then there was a break in the music and five models in cloud inspired dresses came down the runway. The dresses, like the rest, had exquisite detail.
Just a couple:

Fashion Week
This year I was lucky enough to attend two shows during fashion week here in New York! It was the best day! At the show, I met some of my favorite people in fashion like, Johnson Hartig, and my idol Carine Roitfeld! The first show I went to was Rodarte, which has been named the best collection shown in New York. Laura and Kate Mulleavy did a beyond amazing job with the collection. They really are an amazing pair and the most incredible thing is that they are both self - taught, they learned to sew and design by reading old books on the subject! The collection was a fantastic mixture of dreamlike meets fairy tale princess dresses with amazing detail and great separates in great shapes and materials ironically paired with stilettos embellished with metal studs or zippers. It was so free spirited and inspiring. I loved it!

And just when you thought the show was over two men in black suits came out and opened the doors to the freight elevator and standing inside were three models in beautiful evening gowns! It was incredible!

P.S.
I was standing outside waiting to meet the person I was going to the show with and I met and had my picture taken by The Sartorialist!! I was in shock the rest of the day, it was amazing to meet him because I adore his blog and work for style.com and I think the looks he finds are so inspiring!

Lola Faturoti
Lola Faturoti, pictured below, is a great up and coming designer. I discovered her advertising some looks from her line in the east village today!

She had five models standing on the back of a truck that was parked on the Bowery. They changed there position every minute or so in order for the passers by to get a good look at the clothes. A great way to advertise I think! Faturoti has put together colors, fabrics, and shapes in a wonderful and fresh way! Her Spring Summer '08 collection is a great mixture of eclectic colors and favorite shapes! I love it!!

Ciao Bellas!!!
I'm home! And I've got lots to share with you!!
I don't want to bore you with sites and art and so on, but I MUST share some of the amazing things I saw with you!

These are the views of the Arno that we had from our hotel room in Florence!

After climbing the 463 stairs to the top of the duomo, this is what we saw. We could see all of Florence in every direction!! It was beautiful and worth the climb!

This is a photo from the Santa Maria Novella in Florence. It's one of the oldest perfumeries around!
After Florence we went to Pietrasanta, where we had rented a house. It's an adorable little town. Everyday mom and I would wake up and go to the vegetable lady and the bread lady and the rosticceria for everything we needed.

A picture of our bagno in Forte Dei Marmi. We rode our bikes there everyday.
One day we were there and there was an Italian woman next to us who barely new any english said "Tomorrow mi marito comes. He naci a new york e you e him can blah blah!" So the next day we met her husband who was very nice and spoke english. Then his wife, Betty, asked my sister and I how old we were and we told her and then she said she had two sons 16 and 18. When we came back from lunch one of her sons had arrived. He had a buzz cut and was wearing huge rimless black sunglasses and had huge earring. As we were walking back to our tienda Betty got very excited. Her husband introduced her son, he said, "This is Tomazo..." then both his parents go "Tommy!" And Tommy was quite embarrassed and focused on his lunch.
On the 10th we drove to Lucca for an Elton John Concert that was part of the summer concert series there.

He was great! His outfit was amazing. He was wearing a pinstripe tailcoat with large elaborate roses on the back and sleeves with pinstripe pants and black patent leather
slip - on clogs with metallic stars!
Later that week we drove to a small town called Tellaro which was by the sea. It was absolutely beautiful there.

As for shopping, we went to the Prada outlet outside of Florence. It's in a huge space the outlet and they've got all lines owned by Prada. My mom and I got some great things for very good prices!

I got this cropped Prada sweater for 130 euros

this Miu Miu skirt for 90 euros

The white flats on the left are Jill Sander that I got at the Prada outlet for 105 euros and on the right are a pair of Susie Mas Ballet flats that I got at this adorable store, called Zoe, in Pietrasanta for 85 euros!

I got this adorable hat at the Capelleria in Lucca for 15 euros!

I've Been Tagged!
So here goes:
Game Rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their own blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, letting them know they have been tagged and to read the blog.
1. I'm a neat freak. My closet is color coded and my room is always super neat. I really enjoy keeping everything in order too. I know its really strange, I have no idea how I ended up a neat freak.
2. I bake when I'm bored. I find it really fun. All my friends think I'm such a loser, but when you live where we do and there isn't much to do, it makes sense!
3. I am obsessed with Marc Jacobs. I absolutely love his clothes!

4. I'm terrified of snakes. I can't look at one without getting a chill and/or running away. A few years ago my sister brought home a snake that she got as her new pet and she came in and held the bag it was in towards me and I got so scared I started to cry.
5. I'm really clumsy and injury/accident prone. Like in 7th grade I managed to bruise my hip bone by picking up my books and this year I broke my toe because my sweater drawer fell on it :(
6. One of my absolute favorite movies is Marie Antoinette. The costumes and music and colors and everything was amazing. I love the scene where they sneak out to the masked ball in Paris!

7. I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow!! My family and I are going to florence and pietra santa. I'm so excited!!! I can't wait to see the places and the people and of course the clothes!!
I tag beatnik cowboys, the walrus, my white bicycle, the insider to london fashion, train from paris to berlin, marina mode, and we make the city streets our runway,
